About the Team
Within the Product Engineering (PE) board area, the mission of the ECS Delivery organization is to pave the path for the future SAP by delivering end-to-end Managed services experience during a customer’s cloud transformation journey. We strive to provide a spectrum of cloud deployment options for our customers with our infrastructure, our partners, and public cloud infrastructures.
The SWAT team will focus on de-escalation or escalation avoidance for ECS customers with a focus on “Go Green” plans. The SWAT team will have various technical experts collaborating with various SAP stakeholders and customers to drive de-escalation.
To increase our delivery strength in the region, the ECS delivery organization is looking for Experts in the SWAT team who are experts in any of the given technologies SAP Basis, Database, and Server management with prior experience in customer-facing.
What You'll Do:
You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement to increase operation, availability, and efficiency. Infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption is another important part. Global thinking and a strong customer focus are essential.
Your role will be SWAT Engineer – Linux & Cloud Specialist (SRE) driving critical topics related to escalation handling, Incident Management, Problem Management, Service requests, build, migration, go-live, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup and restore, Network & Security.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
• Avoid customers going to Red, Structural work to avoid escalations, using early warning dashboard.
• Drive proactive mechanisms to support good service delivery for critical customers.
• Drive continuous improvement around ECS architecture, ECS delivery, and tools enhancement.
• De-escalation of already escalated customers. (RED customer & Potential RED customer)
• De-escalate the customer by addressing the specific concerns of the customer and by creating a “RED” to “Green” plan.
• Regional SWAT team will engage directly with the customer along with CDM and TSM to de-escalate a customer situation
What You Bring:
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• 7+ years of related professional experience
• Advanced technical background in Enterprise Linux-based server operating systems
• Practical experience with OS Operations, upgrades, and Security Patching.
• Networking experience with the suite of TCP/IP, IP routing, NAT Firewalls.
• Experience with Network Services like DNS, LDAP and HTTP Proxies.
• Experience with Server Operations in large environments and in Public Clouds – Azure, AWS and GCP.
• Expertise in atleast one public cloud administration – Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Strong Customer Service Focus
• Exposure to the automation tools /scripting or processes
• Providing technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning of Systems. Performance Optimization.
• Organize / Structure day2day Operations & Documentation
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of related professional experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technologies Management.
• Cloud knowledge (e.g., experience working in Public Cloud Domains like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP)
• Professional Certification in Enterprise Linux SuSE/Redhat, Azure/AWS/GCP, with exposure to Project Management tasks including PMP and ITIL certification.
• Fluency in both English and Japanese.
