Location: Newport Beach, CA
Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Technology Principal Consultant at our Newport Beach, CA location to lead the technical workstream and coordinate technical stakeholders in an engagement.
Expectations and Tasks:
Explain complex technical aspects to stakeholders and non-technical audiences. Coordinate delivery activities with technology partners. Plan and execute SAP solution deployments. Leverage the capabilities of SAP's latest technology platforms and reinforce their benefits. Champion and lead the transformation towards the Intelligent Enterprise. Implement and support the operation of technical system landscapes. Support setup and connectivity of integrated system landscapes (On-premise, Cloud and Hybrid) by applying state-of-the-art methodologies. Deliver technology, components-specific expert consulting, quality assurance, and system optimization services. Support solution proposals and bid management. Support in escalated projects, manage escalations with product teams, and mediate between stakeholders. Occasionally take over responsibility as a (sub-)project lead or team lead for a service delivery and support line manager(s) in people development tasks. Deliver customer workshops and trainings.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Work Experience:
Experience must involve 3 years in the following:
- Solution proposals and master bid management;
- Deliver workshops, trainings and bootcamps for customers and partners;
- Creation and delivery of expert content including blogs, demonstrations, and enablement to partners;
- Business-oriented project delivery, including estimation of resources, efforts and timeline;
- Customer support and collection of feedback to initiate product-development journeys;
- S/4HANA projects including system conversion and selective data transition scenarios from SAP ECC; and
- Technologies that reduce or optimize business downtime.
Travel: Position requires up to 100% domestic travel to various and unanticipated client sites. Telecommuting permitted.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $131,200 - $223,200. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $146,000 - $248,200. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
