MEET YOUR TEAM
Change has always been part of business, and today’s environment forces us to deal with change – both good and bad – faster than ever before. RISE with SAP brings together the solutions and services our customers need for a true business transformation, in one package, in the way that works best for them – regardless of their point of departure, their end destination or how fast they want to move.
The Global RISE Cloud Advisory Team is part of SAP’s Customer Success organization. Within this team we are looking for highly motivated and customer-focused team members to strengthen our Cloud Advisory practice. This includes customer facing functions spanning Cloud Architectural Advisory, Cloud Application Services, Adoption and Cloud Operational Advisory. These functions work primarily in the pre-sales phase as a subject matter expert role supporting new opportunities, technical customer change requests and renewals.
This position is part of a rotational program and will be run out of the RISE Cloud Advisory Business Office. It will enable the successful applicant to explore one or more functions within the RISE Cloud Advisory Team across a 12-to-18mth period. Successful applicants will be supported to explore different functions within the team and mature towards a permanent position at the end of the rotation period.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
This role will span both customer, partner and internal facing activities. You will have an ‘own’ project or core deliverable/task that will run the length of the program (approx. 30-40% of your time) and you will spend the remainder of your time on tasks associated with each of your deep-dive rotations. Following are the key tasks that this role will perform:
-
Onboard to a key task/project/deliverable that supports the overall RISE Cloud Advisory Team in driving scale and improved customer/partner outcomes. Examples include:
-
Triage expert support requests following standard operating procedures to ensure that cloud advisory requests are assigned to the right experts as quickly as possible.
-
Research, document and promote success stories and customer outcomes via the Cloud Advisory newsletter.
-
Support the development of enhanced digital assets for customers and partners to accelerate volume/mid-market technical support (including repeatable videos and PowerPoint assets)
-
Support process improvement and tooling automation for the Cloud Advisory teams by collecting user requirements and testing feature/functionality for release signoffs.
-
Perform two or three deep-dive role rotations of at least 4months, and up to 6months (determined in alignment with your manager) across different functions in the business. Rotations can be within any team in the RISE Cloud Advisory organization, including:
-
Cloud Architect Advisors (CAA) – advising customers on SAP’s private cloud offering, assessing their technical requirements, and transitioning those requirements to SAP delivery organizations.
-
Indirect Cloud Architect Advisors – enablement, qualification and coaching of partners to support scaling CAA support in our ecosystem. This includes supporting technical viability review of partner-led engagements.
-
Fund Cloud Architect Advisors – ongoing technical support for customers across the life of their private cloud subscription, supporting technical assessment and advisory for events across the customer lifecycle that impact their private cloud technical landscape.
-
Cloud Application Services – pre-sales solutioning team for SLA-based managed cloud services focusing on the ‘run phase’ of a customer’s private cloud subscription.
-
Adoption and Operations Advisor – pre-sales support for helping customers, partners and SAP to articulate the distribution of roles and responsibilities for the minimum set of activities required to support their cloud journey under RISE with SAP, avoiding ‘white-space’ or ‘overlap’ in the customers service delivery model to ensure transparency across all stakeholders pre-contract signature.
-
Develop a core competency in at least one of your rotations to be able to own the delivery of a customer or partner facing communication/workshop/presentation with support from your manager or rotation mentor.
-
Identify and dive deep into an area of core competency/expertise around a topic that is relevant to at least one of your rotations (tooling, security, networking, cloud operations, reference architecture etc.). Put together a proposal and presentation towards leaders in the business on areas of strength/weakness within this topic area that can be used to drive continuous improvement across the broader team.
-
Identify and invest in your development in a topic area such that you are able to confidently host/moderate/deliver internal and/or external enablement (e.g. the customer pre-provisioning form, the indirect technical viability form, the process of a technical assessment etc.)
-
Build your network across the Cloud Advisory Team and create your own development plan (with support of your manager) that will set you up for a successful transition to a permanent function at the end of the program.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
-
Drive and initiative – a self-starter, capable of driving your own development journey and building your own network to achieve business outcomes/deliverables.
-
Customer empathy – an ability to exchange information with customers 1:1, in discussion teams or in presentation mode with clarity and an outward desire for successful outcomes
-
Community management/collaboration – an ability to communicate to and among multiple stakeholders and team members in time-sensitive and deadline-driven situations
-
A keen desire to expand your knowledge quickly and apply new learnings in a fast moving environment in support of customers technical, commercial and operational cloud transformations
-
An interest in technology and the cloud, and willingness to learn/understand industry standard platform stacks (i.e. storage, virtualization, hardware, networks etc.) and cloud operating models, including ITSM, Service Design & Delivery
-
Any experience/exposure to SAP solutions (S/4HANA, SAP BTP) and/or Infrastructure Providers (Amazon AWS, Google GCP, Microsoft Azure etc.) is beneficial
-
A tertiary degree is beneficial, especially in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Business Administration
-
Demonstrated competency with MS Office Tools, in particular Excel and PowerPoint with a focus on clear presentation/storytelling skills
-
Up to 3 years of work experience, in a customer facing or pre-sales role is beneficial
-
Fluency in English is required, any other language is an asset
-
SAP is not offering international relocation benefits for this role at this time.
-
SAP is not offering visa sponsorship for this role at this time.
