Job Overview:
The Concur Deal Desk is part of the GCF Incubation CoE which supports incubation deals covering Concur, Callidus and OEM LoB’s. The Incubation CoE is a critical pillar within the GCF Cloud Commercial CoE, which provides deal support for cloud deals. The team offers great learning and development opportunities and exposure to market leading cloud businesses.
The Incubation CoE team’s scope includes OEM, Concur & Callidus Cloud. The team provides directly or indirect support on topics such as pricing, revenue recognition, contracts, legal, DOA etc.
The Commercial Business Partner is responsible for evaluating fair value of Concur deals, revenue recognition and providing overall deal support to Concur deals in assigned regions such as the Americas region. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and have experience with complex revenue recognition issues. This role will have a strong partnership with SAP Revenue Recognition, Concur Sales, Legal and Accounting.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Will act as the primary Deal Desk & Revenue Recognition contact for one of the identified regions, as well as provide back-up coverage to other regions, as required.
- Work with Sales, Legal and Contracts to ensure agreements are structured in accordance with SAP's Revenue Recognition policies
- Review and approve deals to safeguard financial results, and maintain compliance and consistencies with established policies
- Responsible for carrying out tasks and assisting the sales field via the quote to order process in the Concur Systems.
- Review contracts and related documents to identify appropriate revenue recognition issues.
- Provide support for the quarterly business reviews and quarterly / annual audits performed by internal and independent auditors.
- Keep current on the latest Revenue Recognition training content & programs.
- Drive automation of manual processes and identify/implement best practices.
- Lead tasks and projects such as interactions with Pricing and Promotions teams, CFO’s office, CFR, DoA review, GRC / SOX Compliance etc.
- Provide sales enablement to regional sales team
Work Experience:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Business Administration with focus on accounting topics; financial designation preferred.
- Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience which could consist of Revenue Recognition, Audit, Financial Controlling, Commercial Deal Support, etc.
- Expertise in IFRS 15 is a strong plus.
- Strong general business acumen and can contribute finance expertise to address a variety of business challenges within a complex and dynamic organization
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Able to discern alternatives and make objective recommendations, understand how to effectively work with other business groups to accomplish goals.
- Experience with major CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, etc.) preferred, but not required.
- Natural curiosity regarding how to make process improvements.
- Ability to remain flexible in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Well-developed oral and written communication ability to interact with upper levels of management.
- Able to work within a team environment effectively, as well as function independently.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 97,000 - 213,800 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
