Finance Solution Architect for conversions
Position Summary
As a Finance Solution Architect for conversions, you will focus on guiding customers with conversions from earlier SAP releases (ECC) to S/4HANA. Additionally, you may evaluate and recommend finance architectural solutions and focus on the short and long-term strategic business benefits. As a trusted advisor, you will understand the high-level business requirements and translate them into SAP finance solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the conversion process and a broad understanding of SAP Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting solutions along with Central Finance, Group Reporting, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), BW4/HANA, and Business Technology Platform (BTP).
Role Requirements
You will primarily assist customers through the conversion process to SAP S/4HANA focusing on the impact to Financial and Managerial accounting. Furthermore, you will design the architecture based on process requirements, application, and system landscape. Finally, you will develop high-level roadmaps in conjunction with team members including the project manager.
Must have
- A minimum of 7 years SAP consulting experience with at least 5 years in Finance
- A minimum of 2 end-to-end implementations using SAP Activate methodology
- A minimum of 2 brownfield conversions to SAP S/4HANA
- Deep understanding of the data model changes between ECC and S/4 (Universal journal vs indexes etc.)
- End to end knowledge of conversion process (Pre conversion steps > Custom code analysis > SUM tool > CVI / logistics steps > FI migration > Validations/reconciliation etc.)
- Experience with executing and reviewing a readiness check and simplification item check tool and consistency check reports
- Deep understanding the various errors from those tools and helping to provide solutions in resolving them
- Understanding the concept of Customer Vendor Integration (CVI) and Business Partner
- Experience with reconciliation and comparison of FI data pre / post conversion
- Running / Executing the Finance Data Migration and using the Mass Data Framework
- Working knowledge of New Asset Accounting with conversion experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead customer engagements at an executive level
- Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
- Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences
- Working knowledge of Group Reporting, SAC Planning, Receivables Management, and Document Reporting and Compliance.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with SAP implementations on private cloud or hyperscalers
- Working Knowledge of material ledger and config needed for migration
- Experience in presales activities such as resource planning and ability to work with sales to produce a rough order of magnitude for scope items.
- Experience in integration with SAP Application areas such as Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), and Inventory Management.
- Certification in SAP S/4HANA Finance 1909 or higher
- Certification in Enterprise Architecture Framework or TOGAF

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 146,000 - 326,100 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
