COMPANY DESCRIPTION
SAP started in 1972 as a team of five colleagues with a desire to do something new. Together, they changed enterprise software and reinvented how business was done. Today, as a market leader in enterprise application software, we remain true to our roots. That’s why we engineer solutions to fuel innovation, foster equality and spread opportunity for our employees and customers across borders and cultures.
SAP values the entrepreneurial spirit, fostering creativity and building lasting relationships with our employees. We know that a diverse and inclusive workforce keeps us competitive and provides opportunities for all. We believe that together we can transform industries, grow economics, lift up societies and sustain our environment. Because it’s the best-run businesses that make the world run better and improve people’s lives.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Change has always been part of business, but today’s environment forces us to deal with change – both good and bad – faster than ever before. New technologies are changing how we live and work, and COVID, climate change and geopolitical tensions expose how fragile our world is. Only companies that can adapt quickly will thrive. You need to work more agile, more intelligently, more efficiently to point out new ways. And doing so takes more than just a technical migration to the cloud. RISE with SAP brings together everything you need to transform your business in the way that works best for you – regardless of your point of departure or how fast you want to move. And because we know that transformation is a journey, not a destination, RISE with SAP allows you to change not only once, but to continually transform – and we are with you during every step of the way.
To succeed in taking our customers to the cloud at scale, SAP is also driving our own internal transformation. The pre-sales Cloud Architect & Advisor (CAA) organization are responsible for advising customers on the ECS private cloud service, assessing the viability of their technical requirements, and transferring those requirements to ECS. The ATLAS program is an SAP Top-X project to implement full end-to-end automation for the entire ECS offering (PCE Packaged, PCE Tailored), from the initial configuration of a customer’s landscape through the management of all post-sales change requests and service requests across the life of the contract.
The CAA organization is a primary stakeholder in the ATLAS program – actively participating in both the design, user-requirements and testing process with ECS and SAP IT, as well as working day-to-day with ATLAS to onboard and support customers moving to a private managed cloud under RISE with SAP.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
This is a role within the Global Cloud Architect & Advisor ATLAS team. The ATLAS team is a specialist group that represents the full CAA organization in the broader ATLAS end-to-end automation program and incubates early adopting customers into the ATLAS environment. The role requires strong stakeholder alignment across the business (ECS, SAP IT, Finance, Legal/Commercial, Sales, People & Operations) to ensure the representations of requirements from the sales perspective are fully reflected in ATLAS functionality, processes, and user interface discussions.
This role is primarily internal, with potential for customer facing engagements to support strategic sales cycles or onboarding of early adopting customers to the ATLAS environment.
Following are the key tasks that this role will perform:
1. Lead representation of the CAA organization in the ATLAS PMO workstreams
2. Lead representation of the CAA organization in the overall conceptual end-to-end design for ATLAS. This includes design, quality assurance and implementation of ATLAS functionality/user-requirements (for example the ECS Configurator, Balance Statements and embedded DocuSign handling for Change Requests)
3. Jointly prepare detailed user-story documentation, testing and sign-off, in alignment with other members of the CAA ATLAS team
4. Support de-escalations and troubleshooting across any aspect of the ATLAS program
5. Support new deal incubation for customers onboarding to ATLAS – in particular to handle exceptional architectural requests where there are limitations in ATLAS that will require alternative workarounds or development efforts
6. Support for resolution of challenges to processing of customer Change Requests where cross-ATLAS stakeholder alignment and prioritization is required
7. Jointly design and lead the enablement and rollout of ATLAS to the CAA organization, in alignment with other members of the CAA ATLAS team
