Global Communications works closely with colleagues in HR, operations, sales, marketing, policy, finance, and engineering, as well as with outside stakeholders.
What you'll do: Job Purpose:
The Head of Latin America Communications is a key leadership role responsible for driving SAP's corporate reputation, thought leadership, and brand awareness across the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region. This position plays a critical role in developing and executing strategic communications initiatives, managing executive communications, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. The Head of Latin America Communications will lead a talented team and collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve business objectives.
Key Objectives:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to enhance SAP's corporate reputation in Latin America and the Caribbean region.
- Drive thought leadership initiatives, positioning SAP as a leading voice in digital transformation conversations.
- Increase awareness and generate interest in SAP's cloud software and services solutions for organizations of all sizes.
- Ensure effective executive communications for the regional president and other company leaders.
- Cultivate a high-performance culture within the communications team, fostering growth, collaboration, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a diverse team of communications professionals, promoting their professional development and creating a supportive culture of excellence, collaboration, recognition, and growth.
- Develop and execute impactful executive communications strategies, including speeches, presentations, and messaging, to amplify the voices of senior leaders and effectively engage internal and external stakeholders.
- Champion innovation and a growth mindset within the communications function, constantly exploring new ideas and channels to expand awareness of SAP solutions, engage influencers, and motivate employees.
- Drive integrated, 360-degree communications campaigns, leveraging a variety of channels and formats to engage existing and new influencers while ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the communications field, assess their potential impact, and implement relevant tools and practices to enhance communication effectiveness and measurement.
- Foster a strong KPI-driven culture within the team, establishing key performance indicators, prioritizing initiatives, and regularly reporting results to stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive and non-executive business partners, providing strategic counsel and leveraging communications expertise to support their objectives.
What you bring: Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience in communications leadership roles, preferably within the enterprise software/cloud services industry.
- Deep understanding of modern communications practices, including measurement, analytics, and emerging trends.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing innovative communications programs that deliver measurable results.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project planning skills, with a track record of executing complex initiatives on time and within budget.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of building and nurturing collaborative relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Professional-level proficiency in English. Proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of current and emerging communications tools, platforms, and social media channels.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, executive communications, product marketing, or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to distill complex ideas into compelling narratives, engaging stakeholders through impactful storytelling.
- Track record of successfully working with senior executives in a multinational, multicultural environment, providing strategic counsel, and managing potentially conflicting viewpoints.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and skilled in asking incisive questions to clarify objectives and drive alignment. Experience in crisis communications is a plus.
- Proven experience managing issues and demonstrating sound judgment in determining when and how to involve relevant stakeholders.
- Strong experience leading and developing high-performing remote teams, fostering a positive team culture and community.
- Track record of owning end-to-end communications campaigns, from strategy development to execution, while effectively leading through influence.
