Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Development Expert at our Newport Beach, CA location to be responsible for development focusing on concept, design, coding, testing, quality assurance of complex product features in a development team or responsible for complex product areas.
Expectations and Tasks:
Resolve complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving complex issues. Define deliverables and provide advice and recommendations on solutions that may affect future design decisions. Constantly improve work methods and engineering skills in the team and beyond to establish state-of-the-art agile software engineering practices. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and work on other tasks for the benefit of the team. If acting as Scrum Master in the LEAN context, responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum by helping team understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. Act as a 'servant-leader' for the Product Owner and the Development Team and facilitate Scrum events on request or as required. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments to the Development Team's progress.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and seven years of progressive experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Work Experience:
Position requires at least five years of experience in each of the following:
• Design reference architectures for Native High-Performance Analytic Appliances, business process reporting solutions, Infrastructure Monitoring setup, deployments, and Migration guides;
• Integrate different SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) applications for data governance, security, and cost optimization;
• Design and plan upgrades of outdated platforms to latest versions using various infrastructure and software upgrade tools; and
• Architect and design the solution to automate regular operations, change management and other business critical processes.
Position also required at least 3 years of experience in each of the following:
• Architect and conduct induction sessions of technology solutions for high availability and disaster recovery of mission critical applications utilizing Kubernetes services in cloud; and
• Implement Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence applications to synchronize manufacturing operations with back-office standardized business data.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $147,410 - $217,980. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $153,800 - $261,500. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
