Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Cyber Defense Specialist at our Bellevue, WA location to perform attack scope and root cause analysis, develop attack remediation strategies and ensure the communication and escalation of security activities to leadership.
Expectations and Tasks:
Assist in the development of incident handling processes, standard operating procedures, playbooks and runbooks. Develop workflow automation. Perform additional analysis of escalations from Event Analysts and conducts case reviews and provide onboarding training and coaching to junior incident response analysts. Demonstrate analytical expertise, pay close attention to detail and have excellent critical thinking.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study and 5 years of experience required. Will also accept a Master’s degree and 3 years of experience.
Work Experience:
Experience must involve two (2) years in the following: Database, web application, cloud, or mobile device cyber incident response principals and techniques, Cybersecurity automation; SIEM; APT actors, their tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs); TTP methods and frameworks; and managing cases with enterprise SIEM or Incident Management systems. Experience must also Security certification in Security+, GCIA, and CISSP; TCP/IP communications and knowledge of how common protocols and applications work at the network level, including DNS, HTTP, and SMB; Windows and Linux files systems, registry functions and memory artifacts, Active Directory; Python; and Bash.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 118,000 - 155,200 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
