OBJECTIVE & SUMMARY
SAP US Income Tax team is responsible for tax accounting and reporting for quarter-end and year-end close (including effective tax rate and cash tax forecast), Federal and state tax compliance, tax audits, and transfer pricing documentation for all US entities. In addition, the US Income Tax team monitors tax law changes and analyzes its potential impact to SAP as well as supports mergers and acquisitions, and legal entity consolidations.
The Sr. Income Tax Specialist will support the US Income Tax team in tax accounting and reporting, tax compliance, tax audits and special projects as needed by collaborating closely with other team members and stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation and review of federal, state, and international tax returns, including Forms 1120 / 5471 / 5472 / 8858
- Preparation of tax calculation according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for quarter-end and year-end close
- Support federal and state income tax audits, respond to state income tax notices, contact state and local taxing authorities to gather information related to notices
- Handle requests related to withholding tax topics, including updating W-8BEN-Es and reviewing monthly withholding tax on intercompany payments
- Track US tax law changes and understand the impact to SAP
- Support special projects as needed
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
- Solid working knowledge of US federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations
- 3-5 years of experience in U.S. tax compliance / tax provision in medium to large corporation or Public Accounting firm
- CPA or MST preferred
- Proficient in MS Excel, CCH, and BNA research tools
- Working knowledge of OneSource or other tax software

- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 78,300 - 180,100 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
