Purpose and Objective:
SAP Labs, LLC seeks a DevOps Engineer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of customer environments in Cloud of respective product lines and to ensure the delivery according to defined Service Level Agreements.
Expectations and Tasks:
Have basic knowledge in various technologies (e.g. database, platform) used by development and operations. Drive for automation and standardization. Ensure smooth operations and maximize uptime. Collaborate with engineering and product management as well as other service groups. Improve system landscape support in the assigned functional areas of responsibility. Independent assurance of effective system operations along the software lifecycle. Provide knowledge management in the team and between operations and development. Ensure excellent quality and maintain high standards in all processes listed in the relevant process map. Contribute to operations model/operational processes and procedures. Project / Program management.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study and 5 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master’s degree and 2 years of experience.
Work Experience:
Experience must involve 2 years in the following: Designing, implementing, and executing test plans that include unit, functional, regression, system, and integration tests; Databases MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB; Internet/Network protocols and services; Architectural modelling & documentation; Architectural analysis & evaluation; Security; User interaction; Cloud serverless functions knowledge and scalability; Data analytics; On-Premises and cloud deployments like Azure and AWS; System performance; Standard compliance; Storage devices (NetApp Snaplock, EMC ECS, NAS, SAN); Project Management/Product Management; UNIX/Linux based environments; Testing scalable web based application; Programming languages Java, Javascript, Python, HTML; and Executing and maintaining automation scripts.

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 139,804 - 173,790 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
