Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of the board area ‘Marketing & Solutions’ is to strengthen SAP’s go-to-market approach with a focus on product, industry, and digital marketing. By uniting Global and Regional Marketing, Global Corporate Affairs, Government Affairs, as well as the Solution Area CMSO units, SAP will not only achieve simpler alignment, but also stronger demand generation for our products and solutions.
The M&S Cross Portfolio & Strategic Initiatives Team ensures that topics with no clear assignment in a single Solution Area get the right level of attention. It serves as the strategic partner to unlock the value of our integrated solution experiences along the end-to-end business processes and defines the scope and strategic focus for M&S to drive the realization of our cross-portfolio initiatives, all in support of making E2E business scenarios a reality at our customers. It ensures that our cloud suite embodies the ONE SAP value proposition and is compliant with customers’ sovereignty requirements.
This role will report to the Head of Cross-Portfolio & Strategic Initiatives and leads a team of individual contributors. The role will engage with business unit leaders across functional areas to drive decision processes and create meaningful business outcomes. Key focus of the team will be to enable a secure cloud portfolio for SAPs customers alongside and integrated with SAPs Standard Portfolio to support M&S Solution Management in defining offers for regulated industries and sovereignty/secrecy demands.
What you will do
As a member of the ‘Cross Portfolio & Strategic Initiatives’ Leadership Team, your role will be critical in building bridges between the CMSO teams in M&S as well as across Board Areas to drive forward and coordinate all topics around the Secure Cloud Delivery Options where M&S plays a role in.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- As a leader the role must engage and influence extended teams outside of their direct reports to ensure streamlined execution.
- Provide overview of required M&S contributions to the Secure Cloud Initiatives to all relevant stakeholders in M&S to enable continuous program improvement.
- Lead the team with day-to-day oversight and accountability for an agile team of subject matter experts responsible for driving strategic projects; cultivating a strong team culture anchored by the organization’s mission and vision
- Act as a role model and spokesperson representing Marketing and Solutions at SAP for internal and external audiences
- Define a clear model how secure cloud is integrated with SAPs standard cloud approach
- Define a structured funnel how Market units / industries can claim demand and define market requirements
- Define a joint working model between Secure Cloud-specialized Solution Management teams (SCS), Standard Solutions Management teams, Industry Groups and the respective LOBs
- Ensure the timely availability of field-facing material based on the identified new market units for secure cloud offerings
- Deliver Hero Deliverable assets and practices (for EU Access, CMK, and country-specific Cloud), esp. Market Growth Plans & MRDs as well as Field & Partner enablement
- Creating a Secure Cloud Transparency Reporting (which offers are available, in which MU, under which secure cloud aspect)
What you will bring

- Bachelor’s degree in applied computer science, economics, or related field
- Master’s degree in related fields highly preferred
- 10 + years of professional and relevant working experience in technology industry - preferably within SAP and ideally across multiple board areas and/or disciplines
- 5+ years of project management (ad-hoc, medium to large-scaled projects)
Skills & Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of SAP’s market position, strategy, portfolio, processes, and internal system landscape. In particular in-depth, practical understanding of SAP’s product portfolio as well as cross portfolio aspects
- Experience in Secure or Sovereign Cloud Business Models and Markets, related organizational design and its regulatory or geopolitical aspects is strongly preferred
- Strong focus on customer and employee experience and their continuous improvement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to undertake sophisticated analyses, develop synthesized findings/recommendation, quickly articulate a storyline, and conduct high-impact presentations
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to express complex matters in a crisp, easy to understand, and consumable fashion
- Extensive experience in effectively interacting, influencing, and advising senior executives
- Digital native mentality with a passion for innovation with deep and proven understanding of being an agent of change at scale
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to build relationship across functions, levels, and geographies – internally and externally
- Empathetic and trustful leadership skills – capability to lead without authority
- Fluent in English, other languages are a plus

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 242,200 - 411,700 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
