VP, Design, SuccessFactors
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP, Design to join our dynamic team at SAP SuccessFactors, the enterprise software leader in HR technology. As a Design Leader, you will be responsible for managing a global team of talented designers and driving the design strategy and user experience with a focus on bringing consumer experiences to our enterprise offering. Your leadership and expertise in product design will be critical in shaping our customers’ employee experience while ensuring differentiation in the market. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality designs across the employee, manager administrator experience
- Lead and manage a global team of designers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster their professional growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, marketing, and sales to define design goals, establish design principles, and align strategy with overall business objectives
- Drive the user interface design process from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring consistency, usability, and visual appeal across all our entire suite
- Champion user-centered design methodologies supported by user research, analyzing user feedback, and translating insights into actionable design recommendations
- Provide creative direction to the design team, including setting the creative vision and strategy, creation of visually compelling designs that exemplifies our differentiation, and ensuring consistency and excellence cross all design projects
- Develop and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices to promote consistency and efficiency within the design team and across the organization
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in our design processes for both consumer and enterprise audiences
- Collaborate with executive leadership to advocate for the value of design and promote a culture of design excellence throughout the organization
- Conduct design reviews and critiques to provide feedback on designs and ensure design excellence and craft maturity across the organization
- Establish and maintain design patterns and guidelines that are specific to the domain to ensure consistency and scalability across products and platforms, and alignment with SAP Design System
- Leverage user research to gain insights into customer needs, behaviors, and pain points, and use this information to inform design decisions and improve user experiences.
- Continuously monitor and analyze user feedback and data to identify areas for improvement and optimize user experiences.
- Continuously seeking out opportunities to elevate the organization's design capabilities and work through innovation, experimentation, and collaboration with SAP Design community
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong background in visual design, user experience, and team leadership. They should be able to demonstrate a track record of success in designing and launching multiple products that have delivered exceptional user experiences and achieved business goals.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in design or a related field
- 10+ years of experience of art direction, visual design and creative leadership experience
- 8+ years of experience in design, with a focus on user experience and interaction design.
- 8+ years of experience leading and managing design teams, driving large scale, global, enterprise design projects with a proven track record of developing and mentoring designers
- Experience in SaaS, B2B, or other technology-driven industries.
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of design skills, including visual design, interaction design, design thinking, and prototyping.
- Experience in designing and launching responsive web and mobile applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and strategies to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into compelling design strategies for both consumer and enterprise experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise software design, including complex data visualization and information architecture
- Knowledge of front-end development technologies and frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience working with remote and distributed teams
