Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks.
The GMD Weapon System processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat
The ideal candidate will engage in SW development activities in support of various analysis, design and program requirements; develops test plans and procedures.
Tasks include
• Perform data analysis to evaluate and troubleshoot system/element anomalies document and research computer program anomalies.
• Support requirement verification test procedures and test reports as required by the supporting program.
• Participate in design and code reviews for GMD-F products with element engineers, the program office, and the customer.
In this role the candidate will perform software development tasks for the products within the GWS system.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related STEM discipline and 2 years of related software engineering experience, OR a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related STEM discipline.
• Experience with Java/C/C++ development
• Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis
• Ability to work on-site in Huntsville
•Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD secret level; and a minimum of an interim secret clearance will be required to start.
Desired Skills:
• Familiar with Software Containerization and Orchestration
integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
• Experience in BMD weapons or BMD systems
• Experience writing code and compiling software programs
• Familiar with debugging and troubleshooting software programs
• Ability to understand and interpret requirements and test guidance to complete configuration item and product-level integration testing
• Excellent decision making and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Experience with Agile Scrum Test Lifecycle
• Ability to work in a collaborative, Agile IPT environment and with Atlassian tools
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System
• Familiar with software development for embedded systems.
• Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo
• Familiar with DevSecOps and Jenkins continuous

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
