Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on development using Java/J2EE, React, XML, HTML JavaScript, JSON, Mobile frameworks including Bootstrap, Oracle with SQL Knowledge, Restful Web Services, as well as integration components such as MQ, DataPower, and WMB.
Perform hands-on development in frameworks like Agency Portal, Connect5, and Spring Boot
Leverage tools such as JBoss, Container technologies such as OpenShift, GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Rally, SonarQube as part of the SDLC and CI/CD processes.
Participate as active agile team member to help drive feature refinement, user story completion, code review, etc.
Oversee technical deliverables through the DevOps pipeline, including acting as the point of contact for all technical and software issues; be responsible for the quality and completeness or detailed technical specifications, solution designs, and code reviews as well as adherence to non-functional requirements.
Lead performance test execution to identify potential application performance bottlenecks and potential resolution
Proactively address technical issues and risks that could impact project schedule and/or integrity of the application environment.
Identify and promote opportunities to build reusable strategic components and reduce over-customization.
Work closely with stakeholders to design and document solutions that align with the business needs and consistent with the architectural vision, ensuring proper application of design patterns, frameworks, and services to improve consistency and reduce complexity.
Research and evaluate solutions and recommend/estimate/develop/test the most efficient and cost-effective solution to meet business requirements that conforms to The Hartford’s development standards.
Mentor and train project team members to enforce development guidelines and best practices.
Provide thought leadership to drive continuous improvement, pragmatic deliberations and root cause problem solving; and, able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
. Requires at least (3) years of experience in Agency Portal and Connect5 framework.
Demonstrable experience developing web-based Java/J2EE applications;
Demonstrable experience implementing Web Services and APIs (SOAP and Rest);
Demonstrable experience with Spring Boot;
Demonstrable experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift;
Demonstrable experience in Object Oriented Design, Relational Databased Design, RESTful Service Design.
Demonstrable experience with relational database technologies such as Oracle;
Demonstrable experience with application server such as JBoss;
Experience with continuous integration and DevOps methodologies leveraging tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, Rally, SonarQube, and/or CheckMarx; and demonstrable experience with Agile methodology (Scrum, SAFE).
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrable experience with Spring Batch
Demonstrable experience in Secure coding practices;
Demonstrable experience with AWS concepts and services;
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$111,920 - $167,880
