PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
- Within the board area Global Finance & Administration (GFA) the Chief Operating Officer (COO) orchestrates the simplification, scalability, and digitalization of the organization including all finance processes and steers the financial success for the GFA Board Area.
- This open position belongs to the Strategy & Transformation team and supports the team to develop and execute a long-term vision, purpose and value led strategy. He/she actively drives and supports board area as well as cross board area programs and initiatives with the goal of a consistent and aligned strategy execution across SAP and to become an innovative, customer & user centric, integrated and highly automated Best Run SAP.
- As part of the Strategy and Transformation team, he/she lives and breathes the culture and leadership traits that support an effective COO organization running at its best.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- University degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Fully knowledgeable about Finance strategy, digital finance concepts, value management, agile transformation and organizational set-up.
- Practical experience in developing and executing strategies, transformation plans, and roadmaps based on insights from qualitative and quantitative research / analysis.
- University degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Proven track record in managing large programs & strategic initiatives with interdisciplinary teams and global reach together with senior executive and senior level stakeholders.
- Understanding of E2E-processes and the applicable SAP’s systems, software solutions & technologies.
- Ability to effectively work with colleagues on all levels in the organization and facilitate cross-departmental and cross board area collaboration.
- Proven track record of delivering in quality, time & budget with a strong focus on maximizing customer impact and value.
- Excellent communication skills (in English, German is a plus) incl on c-level, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.
- Innovative leader with strong leadership skills and an ability to find creative and new approaches to problem-solving.
- Highest level of flexibility, integrity, and confidentiality.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Support an effective GFA strategy process as well as corresponding governance that enables GFA leadership team in developing and executing on our vision for our digital finance transformation as well as a corresponding strategy & execution roadmaps, goals and value generated.
- Monitors and drives the value management aspects of our Finance transformation (value driver tree or other approaches).
- Regularly performs internal & external research on best practices and benchmarking and advice the GFA LT on digital transformation opportunities & best practices.
- Executes an effective communication strategy to deepen the understanding, knowledge, and increased engagement of employees regarding our vision, GFA strategy as well as the digital finance transformation.
- Support sustainable change management that enables and supports the digital finance transformational efforts according to the demands and organizational needs.
- Identifies, evaluates, negotiates, and manages the most complex or strategically important opportunities, that will contribute to the organization’s short and long-term business goals.
- Integrate a diverse team that strengthens the agile execution of the digital finance transformation, the anchoring of our strategy in GFA, as well as ensures sustainable transformational success through effective communication & change management.
- Support the development of the GFA COO vision, strategy and value proposition as well as executes GFA COO initiatives & projects jointly with the GFA COO leadership team.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Preferably 10+ years of experience in relevant position or areas within the Finance board area, including strategy and transformation touch points.
- Demonstrated ability for independent thinking and multi-tasking under aggressive deadlines with high degree of accuracy in a complex “matrix” environment.
- Proven ability to plan pro-actively, anticipate issues and have excellent problem resolution records with limited input or assistance.
