Position Objective To support the rapid growth at Hex Trust, we are seeking suitable candidates to join us as VP, Financial Controller / Finance Director. You will lead in all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, treasury, budget and forecast preparation. You will be accountable for partnering with the management team in supporting business decisions from a financial perspective and the timely & accurate reporting of all financial results. You will lead and strengthen the Finance team to cope with increasing scope and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for setting the financial strategy to ensure long-term growth and optimum enterprise value for the company;
- Confidently partner with the CEO, Department Heads, and other parties as required to prepare for and deliver during meetings with Clients, Partners, and any other parties for the purpose of Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Investment, Audits etc.
- Provide guidance and counsel on financial matters, and take ownership of the resulting outcomes.
- Report on the Company’s financials (i.e. P/L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc.) to stakeholders as required;
- Provide hands-on leadership, guidance, mentorship and performance management to the finance staff in the organization;
- Oversee and manage the accounting, tax, insurance, budget, credit and treasury and capital structure functions ensuring that the interests of all stakeholders are served;
- Provide effective cash flow management (receivables, suppliers, capital expenditures, expenses) and make recommendations; review existing financial procedures and implementation and necessitate change as approved;
- Oversee all budgeting aspects and audits relating to the Company and oversee all financial management systems incorporated by the Company; provide a primary interface with the approved external auditors;
- Ensure operational milestones are met on time, with high quality and that they meet the cost objectives that are established; reporting on a monthly as well as a quarterly basis;
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place for the benefit of all stakeholders;
- Ensure that the finance organization is structured and sized to be optimally aligned to the needs of the business;
- Oversee all expense and payroll finalization activity;
- Manage financial relationships/contracts with our banking partners, investors, debtors, suppliers, customers and partners along with the CEO and other team members;
- Ensure compliance with securities statutory and regulatory reporting requirements;
- Effectively manage the company’s cash and securities position and drive any supplementary initiatives deemed necessary by the company;
- Remain informed about the business, put measurements and reporting dashboards into place enabling real-time assessment of performance and ‘what’s over the horizon’.
- 5-10 years experience in senior financial management roles that include the management of the Company’s financial reporting requirements;
- With a high degree of numerical acumen and attention to detail, you will also be an excellent communicator to ensure outputs are well received and understood at all levels;
- Experience with the handling of legal documentation, T&C’s, LOC’s, etc;
- An experienced people manager, you will also be comfortable collaborating with groups across the business.
- Demonstrable and hands-on experience with automated accounting systems.
- Working knowledge of a high-tech startup environment and demonstrated understanding of the technologies, environment and challenges is a plus.
- An active interest in blockchain, new technologies and emerging markets is a must.
