Position Summary
The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for designing efficient and optimal networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, cloud computing virtual networks, software defined networks, and other data communications systems. As part of a high performing team of network technologists, the Senior Network Engineer engages in technical workgroups, resolves, and makes decisions on complex and high-risk issues, performs research, analysis, design, creation, and implementation of infrastructure systems to meet current and future requirements. You will report to our Network Team Lead. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and be excellent at multi-tasking.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL
• Support the development of industrial network standards
• Collaborates with network lead to design and implement functional company networks
• Design and deploy functional networks such as LAN, WAN, and WLAN
• Configure and install routers, switches, and several other networking devices
• Monitor network performance on a regular basis
• Conduct security assessments (with security team) and make recommendations on data/voice network (LAN, WLAN, WAN, DMZ, Internet), disaster recovery, remote access, network appliances, servers, and directory services security
• Resolve support issues that have escalated via the local infrastructure
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Create, test, and oversee security measures by implementing network enhancements
• Maintain and update the technical reports on a timely basis.
• Suggest improvements to boost the network s capacity, performance, and scalability
• Expertise in Ansible/Python for Network automation and automate firewall policy management
• Be updated about the latest developments in network technologies
• Ensure system uptime and backup for network-related equipment
• Backup support of network security team
• Maintaining very high customer satisfaction and a consistently great work experience with all teams
SKILLS & QUALIFICATONS
• Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or related field.
• 10+ years experience as a network engineer in a fast-moving environment
• Certified ITIL Foundation
• Excellent knowledge of Service Desk, ITIL standards and its processes
• Professional certification CCIE R&S or Infrastructure (Lab Exam)
• Hands on experience with Cisco and Aruba devices
• Well versed in Cisco Collaboration solutions & Wireless solutions
• Solid background in network administration and architecture
• In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
• Technical knowledge of Cisco ISE end point security solution
• Previous work experience with Cisco, & Palo Alto
• Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, NXOS and IOS
• Deep understanding of network security systems, intrusion detection systems and protocols including, ACE, ACS, VPN, GRE, IPSEC, IKE, TACACS, RADIUS, ACLs, 802.1x , audits, log files, etc.
• Familiarity with network analysis tools including SolarWinds, PRTG, and Cisco DNA
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
• Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Business level fluency in English required, other language knowledge is a plus
