Job summary:
Our team (BDGS SA OSS SD NM CA) is leading the Network Management Customer Adaptation business and is set up to define and foster services business and support Ericsson Market Area (MA) customer engagements & deliveries beyond the standard Ericsson Product Software capabilities. The team drives service development, service industrialization and provides key competence in customer delivery engagements executed together with our offshore team on customer requests.
We are opening a position for a Senior Solution Architect to join us to strengthen up the global expertise on our services around the analytic solutions offered in the Network Management suite. Today with a focus of service around our product offerings for ENIQ and Network Analytics (NetAn) but with an early insight to tomorrow’s platforms as part of the daily work.
The expertise team is today based out of Ireland and Sweden and works closely with our offshoring teams in India and China in a virtual community. We work with a strong emphasis on team success and are looking for individuals who like to work in a team were tasks can change dynamically for the greater good of our business.
As part of the global service delivery team the primary task of the role would be driving early customer engagements, perform solution design (Including cost estimations), and drive new service creation and market introduction. You would be expected to lead and set standards for how we shall work within the global team, identify, and propose efficiency and quality improvements and support our serviceability work towards our product development teams. The role stretches over all parts of our service offering around analytics and performance management, all from in dialog with our customers identify the value use cases and customer needs to propose data mediation, KPI identification, machine learning, closed loop interaction and report visualization to meet the total solution required by the customer.
In the role you would be able to make a direct impact to how customers perceive our solutions and have a direct insight to the business outcome of our activities. You will be part of evolving our offerings in an area where we see a strong momentum for software driven service delivery business in the coming years.
Within the team you would be given good development possibilities in a diverse work environment within a multi skilled team with a close connection to both the global market as well as the development organizations. You will, in addition to your focus area, have an entry point to the latest functionality and techniques Ericsson offers in the Network Management and Orchestration domain around automation and optimization and influence and drive the combined service offerings for the team.
You will cooperate, communicate, and travel in an international environment, both with colleagues internally as well as customers and suppliers to Ericsson. The role of a Solution Architect requires you to take initiative and lead role in the team, customer delivery projects and process improvements. You will, in most engagements, work remotely in virtual teams to be more efficient, but there could be occasional cases of travel worldwide for customer activities.
Responsibilities:
• Drive pre-sales activities, including pre-studies, requirement gathering, scope definition, work packages definitions and effort estimates for commercial requests
• Conduct solution design activities such as high/low level design documents and execution plans
• Drive new service creation and market introduction
• Provide technical expertise of our design guidelines, processes, tools, and ways of working to our offshore design teams
• Support driving our automation and Industrialization story of software design and delivery processes (Continuous Integration and delivery)
• Be a key person for knowledge, information and feedback sharing towards different stakeholders in our organization involved in the delivery of customer adaptation services.
• Support solution assets creation, including budget discussion and business case creation for assets and serviceability investments
• Act as a mentor for team members in the areas of technical expertise and team processes.
Core Professional experience & other qualifiers:
• Solution design experience, such as for example:
- Pre-studies
- Requirement gathering
- Work packages definitions
- High/low level design
- Cost and efforts estimation
- Customer presentations and demos
• Good understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques (such a R)
• Experience in Telecom and OSS domain with focus on Network Management, Network Data Analytics and Automation, their capability, and the role they play at our customers.
• TCP/IP fundamentals and good understanding of security considerations in design
• Experience of Report Design in Tibco Spotfire, BO, Tableau, or other visualization tool
• Experience of business aspects such as technical pre-sales and business case creation activities
• Knowledge of cloud native architecture, containers, K8s, Docker, Micro Services, VMWare TKG, Red Hat OpenShift is beneficial
• Knowledge and experience in automation, agile ways of working, software engineering principles and process transformation
• Ability to drive work in a structured & proactive manner, strong presentation & communicate skills verbally and in writing, focusing on explaining technical solution to different stakeholders on their level.
• Collaborative, team-player with ability to work across domains, in teams, across geographies and cultures. Ability to build effective relationships and excellent social, communication and consultative skills.
• Innovative and problem-solving demeanour with a desire to drive continuous improvements technically keeping an open mind to seeing the opportunity in change and always challenge us to improve.
Location:
The location is primarily posted in Athlone, Ireland to gain the advantage of closeness to our operational lead and the product unit but as we are a virtual team the position can also be considered in Gothenburg Sweden, Madrid Spain or Jorvas Finland and possibly other existing SA OSS SD location.
