The IT Integration Architect role is responsible for defining the architectural roadmap and design the solution architecture for the requirements Vodafone Oman. The IT Solution Architect role plays an active role both in the execution and architectural governance processes. While the role acts as team member in the Agile Squad, he/she also leads the architectural runway by creating architectural artifacts as delivery. The role requires leading a team of technical people from multiple parties including software vendors, system integrators and Vodafone.


Key accountabilities and decision ownership

  • Accountable for the overall architect of Information technology solutions and set up an environment for a successful delivery.
  • Defines the low-level integration architecture that will service the business needs and wider business transformation.
  • Work with project teams in definition of requirements for integration strategies of their projects into the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Accountable for the end to end integrated design as per the architecture principle.
  • Oversee critical steps within the Software Development Life Cycle components that impact enterprise-wide development / architecture standards.
  • Responsible for the governance of the integration process across all phases of delivery.
  • Working with Solution and Technical Architects to ensure alignment to the Architecture Principles, Architecture Blueprint, Design Principles and Patterns and technology roadmap
  • Provision of estimates and timings to Programme and Project Managers for the creation and support of architectural artefacts.
  • The role needs to foster agile working principles. The Principle Architect supports the team to define the enabler backlog items and prioritize them considering the defined milestones.
  • To work with the team collaboratively to create and maintain an architecture repository where all architectural artifacts are documented.
  • Provides advanced technical expertise, oversight and accountability for resolution of outages, service level issues and other events in partnership with operation and support teams.
  • Create designs and oversee implementation of enterprise integration capabilities between various heterogeneous systems
  • Responsible for delivery quality internally and externally to all related parties.
  • Responsible for educating/instructing the vendors to the combined delivery methods used, and the tooling required for the delivery.
  • Building a thorough understanding of our existing IT landscape as basis for driving Simplification and optimization of the application and integration architecture
  • Create system and process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence and UML diagrams, inter and intra system dependencies within the functional domain and across them.
  • Ongoing contribution to the review and continuous improvement of the enterprise architecture and architecture standards.
  • Cloud Architecture, Strategy, Execution.
  • Considers cost and commercial implications / consequences of technical decisions

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Direct experience in IT in a Digital environment in a similar role.
  • Direct experience in IT in a Telecom environment in a similar role.
  • Solid practical experience in TM Forum Framework.
  • Deep knowledge of Enterprise patterns
  • Deep Knowledge of Security Architecture for API/Application and Cloud.
  • Deep Knowledge of on Cloud μ-services development
  • Previous experience of project on Redhat OCP & OSP, AWS Cloud Environment.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices
  • Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies including JSON, YAML, AVRO, ProtoBuf, gPRC, Kafka streams, automation and orchestration tools and software
  • Experience with the implementation of Continuous Integration practices and tooling to support automated build, delivery and regression test of solution.
  • Deep Experience in DevOps and CI/CD and Gitops



Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Information Technology
  • At least 10 years work experience in years in the Telecommunication industry.
  • Five or more years of hands-on experience in the capacity of Solutions Architect or Enterprise Architect role.
  • Past Digital Experience Layer Channel Transformation Projects Experience (Ideally 2 projects)
  • Previous experience of working with Agile Frameworks like SCRUM, SAFE, LeSS. SAFE experience is preferred.
