What's the job?


What You’ll Be Doing


  • Find and develop new vendors, new products in Turkey & Middle East. Research markets to source and develop new products and vendors for all DIY sector operating companies, ensuring customer requirements & product briefs.
  • Implement the sourcing of factories and products with the aim of driving sustainable cost price reduction and improving operational efficiency.
  • Understand manufacturing process and cost structures for all the applicable category areas.
  • Exploits opportunities for component to Kingfisher quality requirements and delivers products with the optimum quality/cost ratio.
  • Lead activity planning and reporting.
  • Deliver sustainable cost price reduction through implementation of Kingfisher sourcing techniques: E-sourcing, auctions, vendor spend analysis.
  • Negotiates commercial conditions to improve price competitiveness, deliver margin gains, improve payment terms and reduce stocks at destination. Handle the negotiating process with vendors.
  • Ensure the team delivers negotiation of cost prices for new briefs/products striving to achieving cost reduction against existing/alternative sources of supply (agents & importers).
  • Negotiate the most favourable buying terms and ensure all commercial agreements are clearly detailed.
  • Manage vendor performance, maintain optimum vendor portfolio to enhance volume leverage while mitigating risks.
  • In conjunction with the wider category team, ensure projects and orders are led through to competition, achieving the agreed quality levels, delivered on time and in the full quantities ordered, as per team KPIs.


What We Need


What experience you’ll bring:


  • Degree holder or above.
  • 8-10 years in related industry, good understanding of geographic footprint market requirements and trends. (Experience preferable in building construction).
  • Active driver
  • Complete military obligation for male candidates
  • Work experience in sourcing office, preferably with sourcing and factory floor experience.
  • Travel Requirements: %50 of the time travelling both local and international
  • Fluent, both written and verbally in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

We’re adopting a hybrid approach with some office and some home working, on average 40-60% in the office. Your office location? This person will be Turkey based with our Head Office in Istanbul.
