Scope of the role
The Azure Data Engineer will be based at Gunvor’s office in Istanbul and reports to the BI Solution Architect. The Azure Data Engineer is responsible for building, implementing, and supporting Microsoft BI solutions to meet business requirements.

Scope of the role
The Azure Data Engineer will be based at Gunvor’s office in Istanbul and reports to the BI Solution Architect. The Azure Data Engineer is responsible for building, implementing, and supporting Microsoft BI solutions to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop optimal data pipeline using ETL tools
- Develop complex SQL scripts to process and retrieve data from source systems and data warehouses
- Optimize the data delivery and date pipelines to process big data
- Work with relevant stakeholders, including the Engineering and Product Management team, to assist with data-related needs
- Assemble complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
Core skills:
- Bachelors or Graduate degree in Computer Science or another quantitative field
- 2+ years of Experience working with Azure Data Factory (Azure Data Factory experience is must)
- Experience building and optimizing Azure Data Factory data pipelines and complex data flows
- Experience working with relational SQL databases (MS SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics) and Azure Data Lake
- Experience in SQL and creating complex SQL stored procedures & views
- Experience performing root cause analysis on data, answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ability to analyze a high volume of technical data and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and time management skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) and work in an international / multi-cultural environment
- Excellent communication skill
- Must be a strong team player
- Experience in MDM Projects (Knowledge of Profisee a real advantage)
- Experience working with Data Warehouse and BI Projects
- Experience in Power BI
- Experience in Data Modelling
- Azure Microsoft Certified
