About Us
The Applied Innovation and Research team is looking for a motivated and talented developer to join our Research and Development team at the FSRA. The role will work on a range of cutting-edge projects, including building experimental proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and pilots for research and development purposes. The role will be working closely with regulators, academics, technologists, financial institutions and innovators in analysing emerging / promising trends in technology and sharing those insights with internal and external stakeholders of ADGM.
The role will be primarily responsible for developing suptech solutions to enhance the FSRA’s supervisory and enforcement capabilities of both fintech and traditional financial services firms, as well as regtech tools to help FSRA’s supervised firms better achieve regulatory compliance and regulatory outcomes.
The role will be responsible for carrying out research to identify trends in emerging technologies, and analysing their current and future impacts on financial services and regulators.
In addition to these technical responsibilities, the role will also support communications and engagement with internal and external stakeholders. This includes building ADGM’s FSRA’s R&D and knowledge management capability and raising awareness of emerging trends in financial services. The role will also be responsible for assisting in the translation of insights and analysis into meaningful actions for the FSRA, including the development, prototyping, and adoption of tech solutions.
Finally, the role will contribute to FSRA's thought-leadership research pieces for external publication, relating to technology and/or regulatory policy for fintech.
Build experimental PoCs and pilots for research and development of cutting-edge use cases
Develop regtech tools and solutions to help our supervised firms achieve regulatory compliance in a more efficient and cost-effective manner
Develop Suptech tools to enhance the FSRA’s supervisory and enforcement capabilities of both fintech and traditional financial services firms
Carry out research to identify trends in emerging tech / suptech / regtech / fintech and analyse their current and future impacts on financial services and regulators
Support communications and engagement with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to build R&D and knowledge management capability and raise awareness of emerging trends in financial services
Support the translation of insights and analysis into meaningful actions for the FSRA, for example the development, prototyping and adoption of suptech solutions within the FSRA to enhance our supervision and enforcement of both fintech and traditional financial services firms
Assist in the authoring of FSRA’s thought-leadership research pieces for external publication relating to technology and/or regulatory policy for fintech
Deliver additional tasks that may be delegated from the Line Manager
Experience
Essential
Minimum 6+ years of professional software development experience
Relevant degree
Experience in software development, object-oriented programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java/Python/C#)
Experience with at least two of the following:
Front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB
Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Agile development methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Scrum
Strong technical understanding of current technology trends including at least one of:
NLP
Machine learning
DLT/Blockchain
DeFi (DAOs/Smart contracts)
Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Experience in translating insights and analysis into meaningful actions and delivering projects from start to finish
A passion for emerging technologies and regulatory compliance in the financial services industry
The ability to take initiative, work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
Experience of working in the financial services sector
Experience working in an innovation team, in a startup or participating in hackathons.
Experience in developing regtech tools and solutions to help firms achieve regulatory compliance
Qualifications / accreditation in software engineering, cybersecurity, data governance, finance, or related disciplines
Experience in carrying out research to identify trends in emerging technologies and analysing their impacts on financial services and regulators, including publication of research reports
Arabic language skills
